Commissioning & MEP Consulting

LEED and ASHRAE-compliant building commissioning across all project phases — design, construction, and post-acceptance. Functional performance testing, TAB review, BAS trending, and O&M documentation for healthcare, education, transit, and government facilities.

New Construction Commissioning (Cx)

TMG's comprehensive new construction commissioning process addresses all interacting building systems: building envelope, mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems, and building management systems. Built on the foundation of the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), our process provides a continuous thread of knowledge from building inception through the end of its useful service life. We use cloud-based commissioning software platforms (CxAlloy, Facility Grid) to manage and deliver commissioning information.

  • Design + Construction phase commissioning (HVAC, controls, plumbing, lighting, electrical)
  • Measurement and verification implementation
  • Commissioning for LEED certification
  • O&M staff training
Existing Building Commissioning (EBCx)

TMG applies a systematic EBCx process to assess, investigate, analyze, optimize, and improve performance of buildings that may or may not have been previously commissioned. We help owners develop the Current Facility Requirements (CFR) and provide a comprehensive EBCx report with recommendations for improving building performance.

  • Development of the CFR
  • Re-Commissioning (previously commissioned buildings)
  • Retro-Commissioning (buildings never commissioned)
  • Measurement and verification implementation
  • O&M staff training
Commissioning Process Management

We recognize commissioning requires a full project management approach — clear communication with stakeholders early and often, using the project schedule to define priorities, and monitoring that all disciplines stay aligned. This is especially critical for complex MEP installations combined with the latest building management systems. TMG's process management service leverages powerful cloud-based commissioning software for transparent progress reporting.

Monitoring-Based Commissioning (MBCx)

MBCx continually maintains and improves building performance over time. A building operator can record and understand the operation of mechanical systems on a continuous basis using real-time energy and performance data. TMG uses SkySpark® analytics software as part of MBCx solutions.

TMG acquires materials and oversees the construction of each panel box to proper specifications for each unique project based upon our SCADA designs and electrical requirements. Our Controls team then performs complete system integration.

Integration Services

Complete automation consulting, controls design, programming, and integration for Power Generation Plants, Electrical T&D SCADA, Solar Plants, District Utility, Boiler & Chiller Plants, and Wastewater/Water Treatment Plants.

Engineer Procure Construct (EPC)

Turnkey installation and full EPC delivery for electrical, controls, and instrumentation projects. We hold professional engineering licenses, general contractor licenses, and electrical contractor licenses across multiple states.

In addition to being professionally licensed, TMG carries an Unlimited Builder's license in multiple states, along with unlimited electrical and mechanical licenses. This greatly simplifies our work as we transition from the Engineering phase into permitting and construction.

EPC Scope of Work Capabilities

  • SCADA / PLC / Instrumentation
  • Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
  • Telecom & SCADA Infrastructure Upgrades
  • Building Automation System / HVAC, Electric, Meter & Lighting Controls
  • Substation Protection & Control

Our EPC capability means clients receive a single responsible party from engineering through construction closeout — reducing project risk, compressing schedules, and ensuring design intent is carried through to physical installation.

Reliability Analysis

Vibration analysis, infrared thermography, remote monitoring, and systematic reliability studies to move facilities from reactive to predictive maintenance — minimizing unplanned downtime and maximizing asset value.

1. Precision On-Site Vibration Analysis

Our field engineers utilize high-fidelity data collectors to perform comprehensive onsite vibration signatures. By analyzing velocity, acceleration, and displacement, we identify root causes of equipment distress before catastrophic failure.

  • Detection: Misalignment, unbalance, bearing wear, mechanical looseness, resonance
  • Output: Prioritized recommendations to extend Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
2. Infrared Thermography & Thermal Imaging

Heat is often the first sign of impending failure in mechanical and electrical systems. Our infrared testing identifies "hot spots" invisible to the naked eye.

  • Rotating Equipment: Friction-induced heat in bearings and couplings
  • Electrical Infrastructure: High-resistance connections in MCCs, breakers, and bus ducts — preventing arc-flash incidents and downtime
3. Remote Vibration Monitoring

For critical "cannot-fail" assets, periodic on-site testing is not enough. We deploy Remote Vibration Monitoring solutions that provide 24/7 oversight of your most sensitive equipment.

  • Continuous Surveillance: Real-time monitoring of RMS levels and frequency bands
  • Instant Alerting: Automated SMS or Email notifications when vibration thresholds are breached

Why the Most Important Part of Any Building Is the Part Nobody Sees

Why the Most Important Part of Any Building Is the Part Nobody Sees

Ask most people what makes a great building and they'll point to the architecture — the glass curtain wall, the lobby atrium, the roofline. Nobody ever walks into a hospital and says "wow, that BAS sequencing is really something." But here's the thing: the systems hidden inside the walls, above the ceiling tiles, and buried in electrical rooms are what actually determine whether a building performs the way it...
